What political/institutional changes would you offer a country like Egypt today?
I would suggest them to fight for a new constitution that ensures real separation and distribution of powers since according to the constitution the president is the head of every major institution in the country. Political parties should also be allowed to form and to present their programs to people. The emergency state declared since 30 years and which allowed the arrest of any opposition leader should also be cancelled. The new constitution should also highlight social justice because this is important to reduce the gap and the tensions between the rich and the poor which have grown in the past thirty years. Egypt should also learn from the political and economical models in western Europe and I think that Egypt would benefit from a social market economy and a parliamentary democratic political system.
