How can the life of an immigrant be improved?

i have a sociology assignment due in 5 days and it requires me to suggest ways in which the life of an immigrant can be improved through various institutional structure (i.e. health. welfare, education, finance) can someone please help me :( i just need an example or something to get me rolling.
