Should public universities, who have a Native American logos or mascots, receive public funding for anything.?
Is it right for public universities to receive public funding, if they have a Native American logo or mascot? The legacy of racism in the United States continues to generate controversy. An event as seemingly mundane as Thanksgiving raises complex issues for Native Americans and anti-racist activists. but many seem to believe that spending tax money on schools who refuse to consider the damage that something that seems as insignificant as a logo or mascot is only promoting institutional racism. Unlike the racism perpetrated by individuals, institutional racism has the power to negatively affect the bulk of people belonging to a racial group. if this is the case should they receive public funding.
